So I know I mentioned in the last post that we hired someone new at work... Well that is no more. He quit after the first day and so now it is just down to the three of us at work and I am working close to 35 hours and just in case you didn't know I am only a part timer! Anyways yesterday I had my lesson in my education class that I got to teach. It went pretty well except for the fact that I kind of forgot the book, so it ended up being shorter than I planned. However, I was going to read If You Give A Mouse A Cookie and I had them make their own paper cookies and write on the back how they could share or help somebody and I brought in real cookies to pass out. If it were a real classroom I would've waited until they all had done something nice by helping or sharing and then brought the cookies in but since I was just teaching my actual class, like they are all the same age as me, I brought them in anyways. I really enjoyed it though considering I thought I was going to be a nervous wreck, which I usually am in front of large groups of people. Although it is only the beginning of the week, I think it will turn out well :)
P.S. I will try to post some reciepes within the next couple of days since I am beind. Whoops!

Here Comes the Cold!
Oh my gosh I am so not looking forward to this winter! I really hate the cold and for some weird reason I don't have a big enough coat. Clearly I need to get one. Work is starting to get super busy right now with the holidays coming up and we are hiring new people which is going to be really weird because 1. the new person is a guy, we've never had a guy work at Payless before. 2. I actually have to close the store on my own which is something I have never done before. Oh my goodness! I have to come up with a lesson plan for my education class for Monday. I had to pick a child's book, come up with an activity, homework, and something creative. I really hope the thought I have works out and I will post how it went after I give the actual lesson. We moved into our new house after a year and half and let me tell you it is so nice to come home for my lunch break at work or come home after school, instead of going to the library so I don't wast gas. Other than that, everything has been going really, really great and I am so happy right now :)

Wow I am really bad at this! I get so caught up in doing other stuff and then I get lazy but that isn't very surprising. Not really a lot going on except school and work, I know I have no social life unless you count working with people as one (I don't). Well I did go see the new Footloose on Saturday with Holly and it was really good. We both decided that we need more of an active social life. Work has of course been crazy with the audit coming up on Tuesday and yay I don't have to work that day. Oh my gosh I made the coolest cake on Sunday!! It was a marble cake and it looked great until I covered it with frosting but it was good! I've started my volunteer hours for my education class at my old high school. My yearbook advisor is who I observe most but he is giving me so much advice which I appreciate greatly! Moving is still going nowhere but I'm really hoping that within the next week that will change. Other than this not a whole heck of a lot.

So this picture was taken at our Sharp Family reunion. This is actually two different pictures because in two of our pictures my dad is making faces, two others Anita is making faces, and in the one where they are smiling I'm laughing so I photoshopped my head from a one picture to this one where they are both smiling.

Recipe of the Week
Currently I am in the progress of typing up all of my moms' reciepes that I have. I am going to try to make a cookbook out of them but for now I will post one of them or others that I have from recipe books once a week. So this week is one of my favorites: chocolate chip cookies. I love making these not only because they were a favorite of everyone in the family but because I have been told that I am just like my mom when I make them and how they taste.
1 1/4 cup brown sugar
2 Tbs. milk
1 egg
1 tsp. salt
1 cup semi sweet choc. chips
3/4 cup butter flavored crisco
1 Tbs. vanilla extract
1 3/4 cups of flour
3//4 tsp. baking soda
1 cup pecan pieces (optional)
Heat oven to 375. Combine brown sugar, Crisco, milk, and vanilla. Beat and then add egg to mixture. Combine flour, salt, and baking soda. Mix until just blended. Stir in chocolate chips and pecans. Place on cookie sheet and bake 8-10 min for chewy cookies or 11-13 for crispy cookies. Cool on baking sheet then place on rack.

I'm not sure how old this picture is but I'm going to go with 2001. This is just a guess but I really love this picture. I'm pretty sure that this was one of our last family pictures taken but everyone would know better than I would. What I would really love is that everyone please share one of your favorite memories of my mom, I have my own but I would like to know more.
Current Events
Ok, I'm not sure how good I'm going to be at this but I think it will be cool. Like I said most of what is going to be on here is stories, pictures, and personal writings that I have done. I'm not even sure I'll get a lot of followers but it would be awesome if I did. Now where do I start... I've definately been busy the past couple of months with getting a new job, starting a new semester, traveling to and from Idaho. I have loved every minute of it though from getting new experiences on my own to new experiences with my family. I love my family very much and I hate that we are all so far away from each other. Even though we are so far away from each other I love that technology keeps us up to date on each others comings and goings.
Starting my first real job has been a great experience for me. I learn something new everyday and it keeps me on my toes thats for sure. I may not like the hours I get or the customers who make things difficult but honestly what teenage girl gets to say "I work with shoes all day" :) What is going to make work a lot easier is when we move to our new house in West Jordan. I will literally be five minutes away from work and be so much closer will save me a lot of time and money. Along with work I am also going to school, my second year at the community college. Technically this should be my last year but I would not like to cram six classes into my last semester so I'm hoping to transfer to a universtiy in the spring of 2012 and getting a bachelors in English. For now though, my classes are decent: Sociology, Human Biology, Intro to Education, and Computer Essentials. I'm thinking that a lot of my posts will be about Sociology (how much I love it), Human Biology (how much I hate it), and Intro to Education (volunteer hours).
While all of this keeps me busy, I still manage to write to all of my favorite missionaries out in the field, read numerous books, and keep things going in the right direction. Getting my letters every week keeps me happy, with knowing that I am helping them and they are helping me. Even though I am sometimes behind there is not a doubt in my mind that this is the right thing to do. I may get behind on this as well but I also know it is the right thing to do.
